Description

Two story Victorian Cottage. Living room with vaulted ceiling, kitchen, master bedroom and bath on first floor. Second floor bedroom with twin beds and youth cot.

The Cottage is located on a private road in the historic town of Searsport Maine:The Penobscot Marine Museum, library, restaurants, bookstores and grocery are all within a short walking distance, as is the beautiful seaside Town park and dock on Searsport harbor.

Refurbished in 2008, it retains the old fashioned charm of a victorian cottage. From the great room, the french doors open onto the deck affording panoramic views of windjammer schooners and working lobster boats. Access to the shore is about 400 feet.

In the 'Age of Sail',the small town of Searsport Maine provided 10% of all the sea captains in the U.S. Clippership trade and was a shipbuilding center.

Today Searsport is known as the 'Antique Capital of Maine', with many stores and flea markets nearby. The largest commercial and pleasure boat marine supply store in New England is in Searsport, along with a very well known ship model builders supply and retail store.

This cottage is not available from November to May.

What a Charmer!

This one of the sweetest properties I\'ve ever rented from VRBO. A view of the ocean from every window, right in the heart of Searsport, which is right in the middle of MidCoast Maine and complete with everything one could possibly want in a cottage. I had the joy of closing down the season for 2013 and Nancy even scurried to get everything ready on a moment\'s notice. Just couldn\'t have been better. The weather even cooperated. Thank you so much!

The perfect choice

The cottage has all the amenities one could want without sacrificing its coastal charm. It\'s a very short drive to downtown Searsport, close to beautiful state parks, museums, antique shops and fresh seafood. The cottage provides easy access to the beach, fantastic views, a deck great for catching rays, grilling or just watching the tide roll in. Very clean, with comfortable beds, nice linens and enough hot water for everyone. The pictures don\'t lie. We have used VRBO to stay across the country, and always had a positive experience. But we\'ve never had a more friendly and accommodating host working with us than Nancy. Her thoughtfulness and consideration made our trip even better. It\'s not a question of if we will be back, just a matter of when.

A magical place

The cottage was truly magical. It was a good place to regroup and bond with loved ones. It was clean and cozy and the view of the bay was simply put, beautiful! Nancy (the owner) thought of everything a guest could possibly need during their stay and made sure the cottage had it. I\'m talking about toothbrushes, extra blankets, paper products, etc. She is a wonderful host... so much so we are going to rent this place again next year.

Very quiet and comfortable

A wonderful cottage with great views of the ocean. Nancy is a super host. Searsport has many shops and restaurants in the area

Great little cottage

We had a great time at the blue cottage. Thank you Nancy for having us!
