Hello Aine and Noreen, Thank you again for everything you did organizing our trip. We had a wonderful time in Antigua. The airport arrival was quick and easy. Everything that was promised (transportation, car rental, etc...) was easy and organized. Tamarind was a fabulous villa! It is wonderfully situated between the beaches and we took full advantage. You had mentioned construction worries but that was never an issue. The only feedback we would give concerning Tamarind was the lower room (play room and sleeping room). There seems to be a moisture/ventilation problem because there is a mouldy smell that is quite prevalent. We decided not to let the kids or adults sleep in that room. Even the bedding had the mouldy scent. We also ran out of propane (it was our 4th night and had only used the BBQ one other time) one night but we called Gillian and got her OK to borrow the tank from the adjoining villa (it was unoccupied!)... But the propane tanks should be verified before new renters arrive for their stay. Except for those two minor hiccups, the villa was fantastic and we would not hesitate to return to Tamarind. As for another vacation, I will be in touch. Myself and my buddies are planning a golf trip to south/southwest Ireland during the next 12 months. We did Dublin and Northern Ireland in 2013 and can\'t wait to return. Is this something your company can help us to organize? Thanks again for everything. It was a pleasure to deal with both of you!!! Mathieu
Aine, We really enjoyed Tamarind Hills #8. The villa looks great in pictures but it exceeded our expectations upon arrival. The layout was perfect for our party and I thought the extra touches in terms of furniture and fixtures made the villa very luxurious. You simply cannot beat the view and the sunsets. We spent many hours outside overlooking the pool and the blue ocean water. One of my highlights was, while enjoying a cocktail in the infinity edge pool, watching two spotted eagle rays swim within 10 feet of the shoreline directly below me before turning back out to sea. Once in a lifetime. We also had a great day with Catch the Cat. Lushi and Margot did a great job. I am very thankful Noreen persuaded us to sign up for that trip. What could be better? It is a short list.... • We had a few air conditioning issues but they were fixed promptly. We had to do a little self learning on how to use the air conditioning as the basement unit would not turn on. we figured out if you pressed and held the button on the remote it suddenly clicked on. perhaps an instruction sheet in the house manual on the air conditioning would come in handy. • There were no real bbq utensils or at least the ones there were not really that useful. maybe a new set would be worthwhile. • No one was a big fan of the outdoor couches. I know that is picky but an investment in some wicker style couches would be an improvement. We certainly would look forward to having the road completed down to Fryes beach but completely understand that the construction is under way and we received a discount for that. Having said that we will very likely be contacting you about coming back next year. It had been about 8 years since we were in Antigua and we enjoyed the island. We had some great food (Sheer Rocks, Boxer Shack, and Jacqui O\'s were our favourites) and the variety of beaches made each day interesting. Thanks for all of your help. The service we experienced from Exceptional Villas was just great. All the best John
Hi, Thank you, we loved the villa! It made our vacation. There were a couple of glitches. The water in the front bedroom shower( not the master) would not get hot. Also, there are bats living in the roof. We showed the man meeting us for arrival and departure. The mattresses in the master and other King bedroom is in need of being replaced and pillows need to be firmer in all bedrooms. The entire family including my children commented on this. My husbands side of the mattress actually sloped down towards floor and was tough on back. Maid service should really be optional as they only came once to empty garbage and change bedclothes and sweep floor. They offered us service on another day but we really didn\'t need it. Maybe some do but would be nice to have the option to pay for it or not. Loved having beach access right there and would be great to be have same easy access to other beach Ffyres beach. We chose this location and decided to pay the extra $ compared to homes on hillside in sugar ridge which were $2500 less for same space, but had access to resort but had to drive to beach,so we could have direct beach access. Would love to have had a beach chair and umbrella to take down to the beach. None of the beaches close by had them and would be easy to carry them down to the beach by the parking lot or throw in car take to beach. We hear there will be a resort built one day and would love to have close access to golf tennis and a workout facility. I know that you can go to jolly bay but just not the same. Other then that it was a wonderful trip. My husband is an airline executive and if you ever offer specials as some of the resorts and homes in the area do, we would love to be added to you that email list. We have the ability to jump on a plane even in the off season and would be more inclined to do so with all the specials that the island and other islands offer to the travel industry group rates. Thanks again, sad to have to leave such an awesome place!!! Already trying to decide when we can do our next trip .
Hello! I\'ve been wanting to e-mail you and Noreen since we returned---actually since we got there----to tell you how wonderful it was!!! I can honestly say this was the best vacation of my life. Everything about it was perfect! Tamarind Hills absolutely has to be the most beautiful spot on the island. Incredible does not even fully describe Tamarind Villa 8-beautiful furnishings and décor, well maintained, clean, and THE VIEW!!!! The only downside (if you want to call it that) was that it was so nice that we didn\'t want to ever leave the villa or the pool so we didn\'t see much of the island. The construction did not bother us one bit, they were very quiet and we barely knew they were there. Can\'t wait to see what the resort looks like upon completion! The house next door did get a bit noisy when neighbors arrived about halfway through our stay, but it was just for a few nights so it was ok. I believe we got spoiled for a few days because there was nobody else around and it was like having a private resort. The outings that Noreen helped arrange were also amazing!! The catamaran trip was one of our favorite parts of the trip, and my husband loved it so much (since it was part of his birthday surprise). Sheer Rocks was definitely the best dinner we had on the island too, amongst some of the other wonderful restaurants we visited. We didn\'t want to come home--actually, if it wasn\'t for our kids being at home waiting for us we may just have never come back! It was a rude awakening when we flew back in to New York and it was 26 degrees.....back to reality! Anyway, I wanted to thank both of you for everything, as I could have never planned a trip like this without all of your assistance! You were also both so easy to deal with, I\'m already looking forward to booking another trip! :) Thank you again! Rebecca McCurdy
Hi Aine, Thanks for your email. Krista and I LOVED Tamarind Villa #8. The views were absolutely amazing and we loved the close access to Darkwood Beach. Special thanks to you & Noreen for making our anniversary vacation so special. We also really enjoyed Sheer Rocks. Thanks for offering to share a surprise gift…that’s very nice of you.
