Five minute stroll to sugary sand beaches and multi-hued aqua waters of the ocean. Overlooks large swimming pool from second and third story elevation. Located 1/2 block to jitneys (bus service), in two minutes you can enjoy Port Lucaya shops, marinas, restaurants party stops, dancing, and Our Lucaya resorts. Or just take a leisurely walk there along the beach or down Royal Palm Way. The bedrooms are located on the third elevation and accessed by an internal circular carpeted staircase. Master bedroom is large with king sized bed and its own master bathroom. Second bedroom has full size bed while third has futon. All bedrooms have ample closet space. The kitchen has side by side refrigerator with ice maker and cold water, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, pantry, cooking utensils, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, stoneware service for twelve, glassware and flatware. The dining room and family room overlook the large patio and the pool from second elevation. NEW!!! -BAMBOO floor!!!.
The unit is ideally located, near the water and walking distance to Port Lucaya Marketplace and Isle of Capri Casino. Master bedroom w/full bath is upstairs and allows for quiet rest while others watch the downstairs TV. 2nd bedroom is comfortable with a second full bathroom across the hall. The kitchen is fully equipped and was stocked with many items that made us feel welcome on our arrival. The large living/dining area with sliding glass doors overlooking the common swimming pool was very comfortable. I enjoyed the short walk to the beach. It is possible to walk along the beach for a mile in either direction. During our stay the beach was not crowded. All in all we enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to our next visit.
My wife and I have stayed at many places but this one is the very best. The #1 reason is that we love the ocean. We stayed in Florida gulf coast and no comparison whatsoever. The water is warm, beaches very clean, people very friendly, location very private and yet only short walk to quiet beach. Our teen aged kids even enjoyed this beautiful condo with its own pool, short walk to snorkel, parasailing, scuba as well as many good restaurants with caribbean flair. If you love to snorkel or scuba or would like to try it, this is the best place in the world to go. I do both and learned scuba here with Fred and Belinda at Grand Bahama Scuba. There were so many people diving that I met who told me will not waste time or money to go elsewhere due to best diving they have ever experienced. They had been to CA, WA, Belize, Hawaii, Cancun and many other popular dive spots. I got to see reef sharks close up, lion fish, parrot fish, coral reefs filled with rainbows of colored fish and so much more without spending a lot. You will not find better value in this quiet, comfortable air conditioned condo that is well equipped for your every need. Doc and Joann are amazing, you will be glad you booked your vacation here with them. We plan to be back every chance we can and you will to.
Over our Christmas break, the 4 of all have a great time at this condo. Bedrooms all on second floor allowed for varying bedtime schedules while others stayed up to talk and read or used a computer downstairs. The outdoor patio allowed for a quiet place to take coffee and breakfast in the sunshine each morning. The pool is steps away. We had a small rental caar for the week, and drove to both ends of Grand Bahama on seperate days. Also made it to Lucaya National Park and Gold Rock Beach. That beach is your postcard perfect Bahaiman beach, but yes, do go at low tides. We stayed for 4-5 hours and witnessed dramatic changes. Very cool. Weather was awesome while we were in Freeprt. Evening walks nightly to witness the setting sun at the beach that takes, perhaps 5-7 minutes to walk to from this condo. We did not get to the International Bazaar, but we did make it to Paradise Cove to snorkel. We did this on our own, not via a tour or expedition. Much cheaper this way, but, of course, you would need your own rental car to make the drive there. We grocery shopped for much of our stay. Stores are conveinent to this condo. Did ventured up to Port Lucaya to dine out a few times. It was pretty quiet. (tourist wise) Doc and Joann have the kitchen outfitted with anything you could think of in the pots, pans, etc. dept., as well as utensils. Loved the location, would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Freeport.
The condo was very welcoming, quiet, well maintained and clean. A great equipped kitchen. Doc and Joann are very friendly people and live up to what they say. I loved the terrace and we used the grill a couple of times. We had a wonderful stay as the condo is only a couple of minutes walk from Coral Beach. The bar @ Coral Beach serves great food and is lively as well. The marina is about a 20 minutes walk. We did rent a car as we did want to explore the island a bit, and it is easier to get groceries. We went to try the best conch salad on the island at Tony Macaroni, and visited a beautiful national Park. The locals are extremely friendly. Only we found Port Lucaya very touristy and I was glad to be there off season. We had a great stay and I hope to come back to the condo somewhere in September this year.
The location of the rental unit is very convenient, beach access is avaiable at the end any of the streets off of Royal Palm. Port Lucaya is also just a short drive away as was the groccery store. The unit itself was very clean and the new Bamboo flooring is very nice. The pool is just a few steps off the balcony and the temperature of the water was perfect. The weather while we were there was gorgeous, it was a little too hot to stay on the beach for long, except early in the morning to watch the sun rise, not a bad way to start each day. The customer service provided was excellent, we made short work of the bottle of wine that was left to welcome us. We made several trips to the casino, one of us was luckier than the other, but healthy donations were made to the Bahamian economy. Gold Rock Beach is a definite must see, it is a strangely beautiful spot, but you must go at low tide. The water is crystal clear even when you do find a spot where the water is deeper that your knees. The three of us ate in most nights, but we did go out to breakfast a couple of times to Zorba\'s in Port Lucaya, the night we went out to eat we went to Luciano\'s, also in Port Lucaya, the food was excellent. Luciano\'s has a Prix Fixe menu so that you can save a little money if that is your wish. The Garden of the Groves is also something to see, once you are done with the tour definitely try a Banana Diaquiri at the bar/restaurant, the homemade Hummas is excellent also. All in all we had a very relaxing vacation, the only downside was the impact of the ecomimic problems was very evident. There are numerous restaurants and hotels/resorts that were closed, the International Bazaar was all but deserted. It made us very sad, we just hope that once the economy turns around the island will thrive. The people everywhere were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recomend this rental to family and friends.
