Don and BJ were very welcoming and their home is very relaxing. Being greeted with homemade cookies on the counter was a bonus! Beautiful location, close enough to everything, will definitely visit again.
Don and BJ are very nice and welcomed us in. Down there for Skyline Drive and Luray Caverns so it was the perfect location. Had dinner at Mok-n-She\'s and the locals were very friendly and made us feel at home. All 3 of us agreed it was a great experience. Hope to be back next year!
If you are going to the mountains, this is the place to go. Don and BJ\'s cabin is outstanding. We were caught up in traffic and let Don know we would arrive late. He was very helpful and his directions were spot on. The cabin is attached to the back of the main house; however, you get the feeling of being in your own cabin. BJ and Don have thought of everything you would need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook from breakfasts to dinners. Don and BJ\'s pride is everywhere from the little extras in the bathroom to the colorful plates in the cabinets. We got to meet their two furry roommates and got a visit from Reesey, the bigger dog when the cabin door was open. There are beautiful mountain views from the porches and we watched the sunrise every morning. We used the cabin as a romantic getaway, but there is enough room for a larger family. We were made to feel so comfortable. There are plenty of things to do in Luray from antiquing to visiting wineries to visiting the caverns and riding along the Greenway through town. It was hard to leave and we highly recommend this cabin.
From the minute we arrived we felt relaxed. Such a lovely cabin, the owners went above and beyond to make our stay very comfortable. Anything we needed and then some was provided. The sweet pups Reese’s and Booker greeted us and made us feel very welcome. My favorite part was sitting on the back porch with my coffee watching the deer go by. We can’t wait for our next visit. Would love to stay there again. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. ??????????
We stayed here during our Shenandoah NP days as it was about 20 minutes from the Thornton Gap entrance station. This particular property is located a few miles from downtown Luray, VA, and is out on a very nicely secluded road. There is a swing in the backyard which was perfect for our daughter to blow off some steam when we arrived. There is a ramp from the driveway to the house, which is great for lugging luggage. The are we stayed is around the back of the main house. Some of the photos make it look like the place you stay is above the garage, not the case. The house is very well setup for cooking in, lots of dishes, and there is a kettle to heat water, and plenty of counter space to spread out. The sleeping arrangements are also very nice. The loft contains 2 twin beds and a king, the downstairs bedroom contains a queen bed. Not sure why the king isn\'t downstairs, but not an issue for us. There is a very nice screened in porch for just chilling out. The propane grill isn\'t great, it gets the job done. There are no special checkout rules, which I appreciate as the owner still trusts his renters. We really like to leave a place better than we found it. There are a couple of dogs that live there, very nice, well fed, and didn\'t cause us a problem at all. The bathroom was also well amended, complete with body wash, shampoo, and a jet tub. We ran into the homeowner once, and he was very welcoming and a pleasure with which to chat. We recommend this property!
