Playa Hermosa offers a multitude of water sports and simple low-key bars and restaurants. Within steps from Villa Tortuga you can relax in the sun or under the shade of a tree watching the flights of spectacularly colorful birds and listening to the laughter of the Howler Monkey or hire a guide to take you diving or deep-sea fishing where you may see migrating whales. A 1.5hour drive north will take you to one of Costa Rica’s National Parks or travel south to Tamarindo one of the world’s best-known surfing locations. Villa Tortuga at El Cubil is an exclusive gated community ideally located in Playa Hermosa, just minutes from the beach, restaurants and local entertainment. This newly furnished 3 bedroom, with extra Shoji room, 2.5 bath condo is on the top floor, has spectacular views of Playa Hermosa and Monkey Island. Looking down you see beautifully designed and landscaped community pools & BBQ area shared by ElCubil
 
Villa Tortuga is a Triplex unit designed with an open floor plan.
 
On the first level the living and dining area windows open wide to enjoy the ocean breeze while hosting a meal for 10 at the harvest table. There is a 64 inch flat panel smart TV in the room so all can share in a movie or sporting event. The newly installed gourmet kitchen is fully equipped featuring upgraded stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and an island with bar stools. Also on this level is a laundry room, a half bath, and a unique Shoji room to be used as an office or bedroom area for your guests.
 
The second level has three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, flat screen smart TV, vaulted ceilings, and expansive windows that open to the ocean. A walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom with double sinks and large shower complete the master suite. The second bedroom is light filled with a queen bed, large windows, beautiful built in wood furniture and it’s own flat screen smart TV. The third bedroom is quiet and serene with a queen bed, generous closet and lots of privacy.
 
At the top of the dramatic architectural stairway, the third level opens to a stunning terrace and wet bar. Soak up the sunshine, enjoy an evening drink, or perhaps practice yoga on the beautiful 550 sq ft private terrace.
 
Villa Tortuga can comfortably sleep 7 including the pull-out sofa in the Shoji room. The laundry room, AC thru out, Cable TV and internet are a few of the key comforts of home included at Villa Tortuga.

Beyond Amazing


We booked a couples retreat for my wife and I with 2 other couples.. it was only 4 days and now I wish it was for a week. The place truly elevated our vacation a few levels. All the comforts of a true 5 star resort while maintaining the local vibe.. can\'t wait to go back.. definitely the one of the best places to stay in Playa Hermosa

Elegant and Comfortable


ElCubil is beautiful and extremely comfortable. The unit is perfectly equipped with all the comforts of home including a large TV, blenders, hairdryers, beach towels, and a laundry room. (So don\'t worry about packing everything, it is there for you). It was surprisingly easy to get to and perfectly located steps from the beach in Playa Hermosa. So many other properties are built high on the hillsides and difficult to get to I was very happy we could easily walk to the beach and restaurants. That said, the view from the livingroom, master bedroom, and private terrace are lovely. I could relax and stare at the coastline and ocean all day long.

Clean, light, modern upscale, gorgeous views, 3 min walk to beach & restaurants.


Fantastic location, lovely setting, did yoga & tai chi on open terrace on top floor & on deck by private pool on property. Plus super short easy walk (basically flat)to beach & back made life easy & relaxed. Property is beautifully maintained, private gate with parking, security guard always there, but felt totally safe didn\'t need him, he was really friendly. Great restaurants close by, had amazing day sailing, snorkeling & massages at the condo thanks to manager recommendations, plus had incredible day zip lining, & thermo pools at Rio Perdido, easy & scenic1hr drive from condo. And having lots of amenities was appreciated by everyone for the flat screen TV movie night. Best of it all, saw monkeys in the trees down the road, some beautiful birds, walked the lovely beach & swam, then felt so nice to walk in to air conditioning, clean inviting space, settle in & relax. Perfect combination of modern luxury condo in beautiful natural area. Not enough time to do everything we wanted. Property manager was amazing in arranging everything we wanted. Would definitely come back here.

I had a wonderful relaxing, romantic, nature filled get away week in a place I\'ve always wanted to visit, Playa Hermosa in Costa Rica. The owner of this delightful property clearly cares about making every detail of your holiday perfect! From the moment I arrived, the VIP concierge service arranged everything from transportation to and from the airport, to getting groceries along the way, to recommending the best local cuisine, to trips into Coast Rica\'s rain forest to Zip Line through the Jungle, to an afternoon sunset sail to snorkel and explore nearby deserted beaches where monkeys roamed wild. There\'s so much to do, I want to go back to experience it all again...of course there\'s always an option to stay put and swim, read, or take a jacuzzi on the first floor patio of the complex. The duplex has all modern amenities. It\'s impeccably clean. The space has a great flow, shoji screens to divide spaces for privacy, a wide open living room / kitchen and bedrooms with large flatscreen TV\'s for family and friends to congregate, with a fantastic view of the mountains and the sea beyond. Lastly, compared to other 5 star places I\'ve rented, the owner has amassed an amazing art collection from artists who live in the Central American region. This touch, makes for great ambience. In addition, the place is filled with handcrafted furniture made by a local artisans. The beach is only a 5 minute walk down the road. If your lucky, you\'ll be able to see or hear monkeys along the way. Along the beachfront, you\'ll find amazing ocean front restaurants which serve locally caught fish, experience delightful blue waters to swim in, and take in vistas of the mountains beyond. Lastly, I have to say I\'ve travelled the world over, and I can honestly say I\'ve never met a more friendly people...the Costa Rican people are inviting and gracious, and exude happiness. Take all of these ingredients combined, and you have the makings of an amazing holiday getaway!!!

Wonderful !


We had the pleasure of spending several great days in Costa Rica.The unit was just as pictured.So nicely decorated and well maintained.Provided everything we needed. Sean was very helpful. He sent information to us so that we would have everything we needed prior to our arrival? The view was spectacular, overlucking the beach.The beach was only a 4 min walk. There were also great restaurants near by.We will definitely be back and stay here again. Thanks again, Mary
