We went to Costa Rica with our three children and my mother for our annual vacation. We have stayed in many VRBO properties in the past. This property was clearly the cleanest and most well put together of any we have stayed in. It is located just a perfect distance from the beach and very safe and secure in a gated community. The neighbors were very nice and helpful. The pool was very clean. We would highly recommend this property to anyone. It helped make our vacation fantastic!
This property is close walking distance to the beautiful beach, a good restaurant called Father Roosters, and interesting snorkel views. The condo is clean, well organized, and efficient. I highly recommend this place to those wishing to \'get away from it all\' in a pretty tropical environment that is even a bit removed from the local town, Playa del Coco. The interesting howler monkeys, 2 hour adventuresome horseback riding, and successful fishing trips were some of our favorite activities while making this nice place our home. The Serenity Cafe on the condo property provides excellent breakfast and lunch food in a friendly and healthy way. Wonderful Vacation spot!
My family had a great time staying in this house. As a family of 6, it is sometimes hard to find a place that is large enough for my entire family when travelling and this place was perfect. The three bedrooms were just right and the kitchen and dining area provided the needed items for those times when we didn\'t feel like eating out. The property also included access to three pools. With the ocean so close we didn\'t really need to use the pools, but the kids did enjoy playing games in them when we came back to the house. Bernard, the owner of the property, was a great help and quickly responded in any questions that I had. We really enjoyed the beach that was just a short walk from the properly. It was nice sized beach that was reasonably calm and easy to swim in. There are also some rocky places that are good for snorkeling. The water was a little murky, but we were able to see a lot of interesting fish. There are not a lot of dining choices within walking distance of the property, but there are lot of places in the nearby town of Playas Del Coco. I would suggest trying some of the local soda\'s in the town for some truly authentic Costa Rican food, but if you are interested in more American style cuisine there are a number of those choices available. The location and property suited our family perfectly and I think would be a great place for other families or groups looking for a memorable vacation.
We were three couples staying at Bernard\'s home. It is often difficult to find a listing that is 3 bedrooms without one being setup with twin beds or bunks--usually you have to find a larger home. This was ideal for our group of six. The house was clean and well-supplied with the basics (e.g., toilet paper and hand soap) when we arrived. Bernard was quick to respond to all questions and shared all the information necessary to make our stay enjoyable. The property staff (gardeners, security, pool, etc.) were all friendly, non-invasive, and good for a tip or two on local sites to see. Location, location, location: Vista Ocotal is an easy 35-45 minutes from Liberia airport, a quick walk to the beach, a pool right onsite and an easy 10-minute drive back into town. If you love to explore by car, just be aware that your Google GPS maps are not always accurate in Costa Rica. We know this and are always prepared with a printed local map, but found this area to be a little more challenging than others. GPS had a hard time with routes to Portrero/Brasilito/Conchal, Rincon de la Vieja, and the newer overpass for International Route 1 in Liberia. We also did a full day tour of Nicaragua through ShamanTours, it was an amazing experience (Granada, boating on Lake Nicaragua, Masaya Volcano, Masaya market and amazing food), but a border crossing I would not want to do without the experience of a guide!
We stayed at the villa for a week with my husband and two kids. Clean and exactly what\'s shown on the picturs. The owner was quick to answer any questions prior to our arrival and during our stay. Ocotal beach is a short 3-minute walk from the villa. My only recommendation would be to bring with you an outdoor blanket as there are no chairs or sunbeds on the beach. Would definately recommend this property if you\'re planning to stay next to Ocotal beach.
We stayed a week in this house with our family: three couples and a 9 month old baby, whom the owner very kindly gave us permission to add to the 6 person maximum. The house is clean, well equipped and comfortable (and also solid and well soundproofed, which was unexpected, but in our case, very much appreciated, since our baby grandson had some problems sleeping through the night!). We took advantage of some of the activities in the area, but also just enjoyed spending time together and relaxing by the pool. We really appreciated that the owner was so responsive when one of the air conditioners stopped working. Although the property managers did not get it fixed right away, this was not his fault, and really only caused us some minor inconvenience.
The house is ideal for a family or several couples. Beach access is a couple hundred yard walk down a dirt path with a good restaurant right on the beach. About a 10 minute drive back to the town of Playa del Coco where shopping and many restaurants are located. House has good internet access and a magic jack phone to make free calls back to US. Owner is very accessible and thoughtful in helping make your stay better.
