A charming beachfront home in the idyllic fishing village of Santa Clara, Villa Agave is the perfect retreat from the pace of modern life. Step back in time as the fisherman head out in the morning and come back in the afternoon loaded with their catch, as they have done for hundreds of years. Sink in to the rhythm of the waves only 10 meters from your hammock. If you want to avoid tourists, this is the place to be. A huge Master bedroom with sliding doors to the patio, a kitchen in the Mexican style, a large open concept dining/living room (also with sliding patio doors out to the beach) and a bathroom, all air conditioned, this is your Casa for your stay. A rooftop patio is ideal for looking out at the Gulf of Mexico and daydreaming. Nearby the lovely Mexican restaurant La Lagunita is a perfect place to enjoy a Corona and eat wonderful Mexican traditional seafood dishes. It is an experience you won't soon forget! Get away from it all. Welcome to Villa Agave.
The Yucatan Peninsula is rich in History, beauty and is the safest area in Latin America according to the Lonely Planet Guide. It is common to stumble upon Mayan ruins in your travels, and Large Mayan sites are scattered throughout the region. The beaches of the Yucatan Coast, also called the Flamingo Coast due to the thousands of flamingos that nest there, are gorgeous and undiscovered for the most part. Santa Clara, a small fishing village, is 40 miles from both Progreso and Merida and a 3.5 hour drive from Cancun.
If you want to be alone, Santa Clara is the place!! There is nothing there to do only relaxing, reading and sun tanning!!! The house is great, clean and comfortable! Susan the propreaty management and Manuel the restaurant owners are helpful.
A friend and I were looking for a quiet, peaceful vacation in Mexico this year, instead of hitting the all inclusive again, so we decided to go off the beaten path. Thankfully, we happened to hear about this beautiful beachfront home where the backdoor opens on to a patio right on the beach! The beach remained ours for the week besides a few locals and fishermen. As in ... no one else on the beach ... EVER. There is a little restaurant in the village where we would go for a leisurely lunch and sit and look out at a beautiful lagoon. Lazy dogs and iguanas crossed our paths on the way there and back. We\'d barbecue dinner and then sit inside the cool air conditioned living room and watch Netflix (the wifi is better than home!) or enjoy a rum and coconut water (that we cracked open ourselves when they dropped off the trees in the yard) on the rooftop patio while the sun sank below the horizon listening to the waves lap the shore. This casa had everything you might need and, if you did need anything that wasn\'t on hand, Javier (the caretaker) was readily available and checking in every few days to make sure all was good. And good it was. Highly recommend this place!!!
