Set at the top of the "Alps-like" Punta Mira mountains it over looks the Tres Piedras Valley which is one of the 5 energy vortex areas in the world (like Sedona, Arizona in mystical energy). Other-worldly at both dusk and dawn (when 100 speciies of birds come alive), the days and nights at Sueños Mariposa are moderate in temperature but near the hot beach and warm waters of the Pacific.
Three buildings are yours for the rental price ... a fully-equipt kitchen cottage (kitchen, deck, bathroom and laundry) a octagonal gazebo (dining and bar) and a 2 bedroom cottage (2 separate pillow-top queen bedrooms, bathroom and large closet). Ammenities beyond the cottages include the beautiful Steinway pool (infinity with beach entry and waterfall, circular outdoor fire pit (with stone benches for 8), natural outdoor grill/oven and spectacular groomed jungle landscape. You can enjoy breakfast or dinner with the 110 species of birds singing on site. Trails for a morning hike to excercise, breathe the fresh air and explore the local jungle. All safe!
Sueños Mariposa is a perfect location for either a quiet vacation of "hanging around the mountain or pool or beach" ... or adventurous vacation as the area is filled with activities where we have connections (beaches, waterfalls, surfing, deep sea diving/fishing, white water rafting, snorkeling, ziplines (small and large), horseback rides to local waterfalls, mangrove or cacao tours, golfing and more) ... or some kind of combination of relaxation and excitement.

I was overwhelmed by the warmth and beauty of our stay at Suenos Mariposa! Jeff Picked us up in the town to ensure that we would arrive at their place safely- 4x4is highly recommended! Arriving was like a dream on another planet; there was gentle classical music playing from the gazebo and the beauty of the place including the landscaping, view and cottages. Jeff and Nando were more than welcoming and helpful! They gave us a great overview of what we could do during our stay, letting us know that they could be more or less involved. Since I was traveling ith my 10-year-old son, I was greateful for all their help. We went on a boat mangrove birding and animal tour, learned how chocalate is made from cacao, visited a local waterfall and the beaches. One night, Nando gave me a cooking lesson on how to make empenadas. I thought that was more than expected and I loved it! The bedroom cottage was lovely, including the comfort of the bed, superb cleanliness ubt mostly the incredible view of the mountains in the distance. It reminded me of being in the Alps! Not to mention, waking up and going to sleep to the sound of birds singing in the jungle. My son loved swimming in the infinity pool and was just completely happy! I would highly recommend this new place to anybody who want to enjoy Costa Rica in peace and beauty!
This was just the beginning of the beauty. We are friends for 40 years- 4 gals from high school tha reunited here for a week in April. SM is on the mountainside with a beautiful panoramic view. During the day the hot sun would prevail and at night would cool down for a rejuvenating night of sleep. We would wakt to the sounds of tropical jungle noises. The sunrises were spectacular with the whispers of fog settling in the valley below each morning. Just a short ride down the mountain and we were in the quaint town of Dominical and did a little souvenier shopping, a massage and food ... then back up to SM for a swim in the "Steinway Pool" (my favorite thing to do)! A most relaxing vaction. Costa Rica! Pura Vida!! Thank you Jeff!!
My family and I just returned from staying at Jeff and Nando's amazing property. Stunning mountain views filled with wildlife. They were amazing hosts and helped us arrange local trips too. Highly recommended! 1/5/17
