A Villa with an Ecological Approach and Awareness located in a farm at Havriata Kefalonia

Skinos Ilivatos Boutique Eco Villa

On the southern coast of Paliki on the edge of the beautiful valley of Skinos a few km from Lixouri there is a unique environment.

A farm that combines tourist facilities with environmental awareness, ecology, natural & artistic activities which include the history and traditions of this beautiful place.

It all started about four years ago, when our family, tired of the lifestyle of the city, led to the decision to return to Kefalonia, our place of origin & new home.

Returning as guests to our motherland, we rediscover the true essence of life. Once again, we discover the seasons as nature intended. We are fortunate since we can experience the light of day and the silence of the night.

We rediscover all the elements that compose nature as well as their purpose; the rain falls to nourish us rather than drown us, the wind to caress us rather than drift us away, filling us with nature’s most extraordinary scents and aromas.

Among all these, the idea was born to create a place where other people will be able to live, remember, learn about nature and its values, be illuminated with the ideas of ecology & to participate and rediscover activities forgotten in modern day’s society.

In 2009 the idea came to life, a farm in perfect harmony with nature, which can offer alternative forms of vacation, relaxation and fun learning.

The Rooms:
The villa is characterized by its minimalistic modern design in the interior where at the same time effort was given to accomplish the out most comfort for our guests. All buildings were constructed using the principles of bio-climatic architecture. From the foundations to the interior decoration all materials used are friendly to the environment. Our farm is totally autonomous regarding electricity. Our electric supply derives from photovoltaic panels & a wind generator. All organic garbage is recycled using compost where non organic materials are gathered & transferred for recycling.

The villa can sleep 10 persons & has a basement of 200 s.m. which is used as a cellar, garage & storage.

The ground floor of 270 s.m. houses a luxurious & spacious kitchen, a large & relaxing modern living room as well as 4 bedrooms with their bathrooms. All rooms are decorated in minimalistic modern design taking great care so they will also offer luxury & comfortableness to their residents. One of the rooms & its bathroom is accordingly designed to offer comfort & access to people with special needs. The entire ground floor of the villa and the areas around it are accessible to wheelchair users and people with movement problems. The entrance to the sea water swimming pool isramped & configured to facilitate the entry to older people, people with kinetic difficulties or wheelchair users. We also offer to our guests (free of charge) a manual wheelchair for usage in the pool and the shower.

The first floor houses the master bedroom & its bathroom (65 s.m.) offering ample space. Great balconies occupy the rest of the space with breathtaking 360 degree views of the hills & the sea.

The surrounding spaces of the villa are fully planted with flowers. The swimming pool of 100 s.m. is filled with sea water & is accessible to people with special needs. There is also a tree house, built as a tribute to our childhood’s innocence & dreams, a playground & a traditional wood burning bread oven & barbeque.

Please keep in mind (for allergy issues) that there are animals around the villa & in the farm (cats, dogs, horses, donkeys & many more).
