Description

This cabin can sleep six: one bedroom with NEW firm mattress with European top queen bed, a carpeted loft with queen bed and stair access, and a futon (double bed, thick mattress) in great room. It comes with complete kitchen and bath, all linens and towels included, clothes washer and dryer, fireplace, firewood (I supply), as well as barbecue grill and patio set in backyard. Since the end of August 2015 it has been upgraded and remodeled so fantastically that I think you will fall in love with it! New lighting throughout and ceiling fan in the master bedroom; new laundry room with pantry and hot water (formerly the cabin had been in a screened patio so hot water could not be used); new dining room with custom alligator juniper breakfast bar pass through and magical lighting; new sleek refrigerator, 7' leather sofa; shelving and desk custom made of alligator juniper as is the breakfast bar and opening surrounds, new operable windows with views of Cathedral Rock and the native trees and wildlife, and more. The views at this 1/3 acre property are absolutely awesome, and you will also be provided the Grand Annual Red Rock Pass. You can walk to Crescent Moon Ranch Recreation Area to access Oak Creek from the cabin -- Google it for amazing images, esp. in the fall!

At the cabin there are games, c.d. player, books, and great hikes. We also have TV and DVD; hi-speed wireless internet, and free phone service all 50 states. I supply the Grand Annual Red Rock pass for free parking on trailheads and admission to Crescent Moon Recreation Area, the West Fork of Oak Creek (Zane Grey wrote about it in Call of the Canyon)! Check out the books detailing the hiking and biking trails and spend those gorgeous Sedona days in outdoor activities which you will never forget. Here is a piece that I wrote to a guest summer 2016, when asked about the "presence" she and guest who have commented in the guest book were aware of:

"I purchased this cabin in 1998 from the original builder/owner from 1960. He had been superintendent of schools in Glendale, AZ, and his family decided to sell it at the end of his life. He was not ill and did not die in the cabin. In fact, I spoke to my 97.5 year old neighbor who knew him and family, and she said she was sure noone had ever died there. That said, there was no evidence of a presence until 2006 when the cabin had work, esp. roof work, done, leaving it empty for a month. When next I returned, the former minor wind sounds became creaks and animal noises. I had my contractor go through the entire structure and seal or screen any openings.

Personally I have experienced a calming, friendly presence. Most of my guests have enjoyed good feelings and ease with that has been described as possibly a mother and young son. I don't know how to attribute the sometimes nearly alarming cracking sounds, except that she may be forcing out any spriits that would not be well intentioned. It seems their presence is beneficent; when new addition was built last summer and all electrical, etc. was brought up to code, I asked our spirits to please find other dwellings if ever they could not bring light and good ambience to the cabin's guests. In response I received a loving ray of sunshine across my body. And that's my experience.

Guests have been more involved, with New Year's family 2 years in a row knowing that the female allowed her lingerie robe to brush against them and the boy touching the foot of the youngster staying there. He woke mom up to ask if she knew the boy who did that! More recently I had guests who are paranormal/metaphysical spiritists and they had great feelings and experiences with them! May there ever be friendly exchanges and even protections from those whose "lives" intertwine at the cabin at 50 Zane Grey Lane!"

The back of property drops down to a dry creek wash where javelinas, quail and coyote often visit. With rains it becomes a creek which you will thrill to sit on our bank beside. Recently a guest specified three pages in my guest book of all the birds she spotted on the property!! It is a very short walk or drive to Crescent Moon Ranch Park with access to Oak Creek, an area open to hiking and creek access. Need I mention again that the cabin is incredibly scenic (full view of Cathedral Rock) and wooded as well Since the cabin is in a small neighborhood surrounded by National Forest, you can hike or mountain bike from our door.

Guest Comments: Marcia, we came home to find your nice note letting me know that we were back online with e-mail and telephone. Thank you so much for taking care of this problem for us. As you know, it was critical that I be able to communicate to my daughter.

Fantasic views of Red Rock Catheral

We spent 2 weeks in this peaceful, serene cabin in the red rock. It was quiet & cozy there. The sunrises & sunsets were breath taking! We were 5 minutes away from hiking paths & enjoyed viewing the animals & birds. I recommend staying here as you won\'t be disappointed.

A place of inspiration and beauty

Our first visit to and stay in Sedona was at this cabin which, while not large in space, provides so much that fills the human need for rest and renewal. It was wonderful to be out and away from the traffic of Sedona\'s two major highways, yet close enough to get into town whenever we needed to. The cabin had everything we needed, and when something came up with one of the appliances that needed attention the lady who cares for and cleans the cabin in between guests made a trip out to take care of the problem. Being able to walk from the cabin to Crescent Moon Ranch and a number of other trailheads was a real plus for us. Marcia was very helpful and responsive in the booking process and answering questions. We had a tremendously fulfilling stay at the cabin on Zane Grey Lane.

Really enjoyable stay

This cabin was perfect for us (two empty nesters looking to relax, hike, explore, soak in some sun.) We loved the quiet edge-of-town location, the walk to Oak Creek, and the jaw-dropping scenery on the drive down from the main highway. Everything we needed was there, even a car pass for the hiking trails and other national forest destinations.

Comfy, Cute, Fully Stocked, Pet friendly!!!

For a summer visit, we give the cabin 4 out of 5 stars. The a/c unit located in the main living area cooled the common areas very well, but didn’t do much to cool the downstairs back bedroom. We visited mid-June and were able to use fans and open windows to keep the bedroom cool at night, however had we visited any later in the year, it would have been too warm for us. Now with that said, we like to sleep in a COLD bedroom, so please take our review as our opinion only. The rest of the house stayed nice and cool, and we truly enjoyed our stay here. I also know Marcia is looking to improve that aspect of the house, so watch for updates! The views of cathedral rock right out the front window are amazing!!! We stopped to look every time we passed by the window! The house is a single story with a small loft upstairs. The house is fully stocked with all you need to cook, play games, watch TV, or just relax and watch the world go by! We enjoyed our coffee every morning on the porch as we planned our day. The house is pet friendly, but note the yard is not fenced. Our dogs have great recalls and stay close so we were comfortable letting them roam the front area. The house is on a secluded road, so there weren\'t any issues with traffic. The house is at the south end of town, outside enough that the stars at night are amazing, but not so far out that you can’t easily get to where you need to be in 5-10 minutes. We were very happy with our stay and if in the area again, we would look to stay again. The owner Marcia was great to work with, supplying us all the info on the house and Sedona area we needed. She was quick to respond to questions, and while we didn’t need her when we were there, she gave us all the info we needed to reach her had something come up. If you’re looking for a comfy, nice, clean, don’t want to be at a hotel with everybody else place to stay, then this cabin is definitely worth considering!!!

Cozy cabin perfect for exploring Red Rock country, great for kids

We stayed in this lovely cabin the last week of 2012. It was perfect for our family with 3 kids - 7, 5, 2. The ample outside space allowed the kids to practice their soccer skills every day. The kitchen was well-stocked and the heater worked very well. We loved the breakfast table with the great view of Cathedral Rock. We saw a rather large coyote on our drive back to the cabin one evening. The owner Marcia recommended the Heartline Cafe where we had a delicious four course Christmas dinner. On the last day it snowed and was absolutely gorgeous. Nice selection of reading material and games. Sedona is a lovely town and a great base for exploring the area. We did several nearby hikes and went to the mining town of Jerome for a day. We also visited Walnut Canyon, Tuzigoot and Montezuma castle national monuments all of which have ancient Indian dwellings. The older kids were proud of the Junior Ranger park badges they earned. We never turned on the TV or used the iPad the whole week! We stayed in a few hotels following our stay in Sedona and we really missed the extra space and privacy the cabin provided.
