Description
Need some peace and quiet? You will find it at Raystown Lake just 3 hours from busy metro DC, Baltimore, and 2 hours from Harrisburg. Allegrippis Lodge sits atop a ridge in the breathtaking Allegheny Mountains in South Central Pennsylvania.
The Lodge has 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, and a large country kitchen with breakfast bar. Enjoy the sunset over Tussey Mountain. Keep warm on the back porch by the large outdoor fireplace. For a change of pace, use the rockers to pass the evening away on the front porch.
A half mile away you will find Seven Points Recreation Area. Marina, restaurant, beach area, pavilions, beautiful views and a 26 mile long lake are just part of what you will find at this facility run by the Army Corp of Engineers. Swimming, hiking, water trampoline, visitor center, boat rental, and tours are all part of the lake activities.
In the historic town of Huntingdon, you will find an old movie theater, nostalgic downtown, and a variety of great restaurants. Don’t forget to visit the Swigart Auto Museum, Lincoln Caverns, and Isett Museum. Within a short drive are an Amish Market, several other caverns, and the towns of Altoona and State College. Perhaps, spend a great day on the Juniata River floating on an inner tube.
