Description

It was known as Tete Blanche to the French of 1699, Martingot to the smugglers and pirates of the 1770s and in the 1920s White Head's coves and islands continued their reputation for secrecy, as a haven for rumrunners. White Head is the fifth generation home of the Munroe family, known today as Foxberry by the Sea B & B and Cottages. The B & B is a beautifully restored former sea captain's home, set on seven secluded acres which also features 3 cozy cottages. You can watch the sun set on the white granite rocks and enjoy the salt air, peace and serenity of this lovely harbour. Here, three large rooms with double beds, a shared bath and great views will provide a good night's rest after a day of exploring the many trails, beaches, parks and museums on and off the Canso Peninsula. Foxberry by the Sea also provides breakfast on the deck (weather permitting), a mini boat launch, and a seaside shanty that has a deck, fire pit, propane stove and BBQ. You can toss horseshoes, stroll along the beach, paddle in the harbour or curl up with a good book in our cozy sitting room overlooking the water to the abandoned village of Yankee Harbour. Your stay with Linda and Dave at Foxberry by the Sea will be a most memorable part of your seaside vacation in Nova Scotia.
