The Barn at Venn Hill Farm provides secluded child-friendly and pet-friendly self-catering holiday accommodation for up to 6 people. Situated down a quiet Cornish lane, but easily reached from Plymouth, Launceston and Liskeard, Venn Hill Farm is an ideal holiday base for visiting the fishing villages of Looe, Polperro and Fowey, and for exploring the coastal walks and beaches of both the north and south coasts of Cornwall and the wild upland expanses of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor. From Venn Hill Farm there is access to the A38 and A30 for visiting all of Cornwall and West Devon. The Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, many Cornish gardens, the Tate Gallery in St. Ives, the Cornish Mining Heritage sites and many other tourist attractions can be easily reached. From the upstairs lounge of the Barn there are panoramic views over the Cornish countryside. Sheep, ducks and chickens are kept on the farm, and visitors can walk around the farm, feed the chickens, and buy fresh free-range eggs, and in spring there are lambs.
The Barn, Venn Hill Farm is situated just outside the picturesque village of Quethiock, 12 miles west of the Tamar Bridge, and is surrounded by gentle rolling farmland, yet within easy reach of the South Coast fishing ports of Looe and Polperro and the rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor. When the conversion, which was completed in 2004, was done, enormous care was taken to preserve the building's original features, A frames and wooden beams being left exposed, yet at the same time provide all the modern-day comforts and facilities expected of high quality holiday lets, and incorporating a floor-length, west-facing window in the upstairs lounge, giving stunning, panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.
The accommodation, which sleeps up to 6 people consists of: Fully fitted kitchen, equipped to the highest standard, including washer/dryer, separate fridge and freezer and microwave oven. A separate dining area with seating for 6 people. 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin. Separate bathroom, with basin, toilet, bath with shower over and heated towel rail. The upstairs lounge (25' x 15') is fully carpeted, with beautifully preserved A frames, floor-length window, FreeView television, DVD and stereo. There is comfortable seating for 6-8 people, on which to curl up and relax, with a reasonable chance at the right time of year (spring / early summer) of seeing the local barn owl going silently about his business. There is also a double futon, to provide additional sleeping facilities in the lounge. Welcome pack, tea and coffee making facilities, fresh milk. Child-friendly. Stair gate. Dogs welcome.
