All guests rooms in the 1853 national landmark Plough house have queen-size beds (see Studio for king-size bed), private baths, reading chairs and some with desks. A sitting room with a fireplace, movie and book library and service kitchen to store or heat up food is also in this building. Located across the street from the UW Arboretum (1280 acres of ecologically restored woodland, prairie, and native communities), the 1800s landmark and annex addition are surrounded by native gardens and mature trees. On the city's near-west side, the inn is 5-10 minutes to any Capitol or campus site. Arbor House is just a mile from Camp Randall Stadium, 1.5 miles from the Kohl Center, and walking distance to Lake Wingra and popular neighborhood shops and restaurants.
What appeals to you? A visit to the sauna, some time in a whirlpool tub and a late dinner just blocks from the inn…drinks and appetizers in front of a roaring fire…an early morning jog on a nearby trail followed by a hot, healthy breakfast and a spin on a mountain bike…a canoe excursion along the shores of Lake Wingra and then a picnic at the zoo…fresh-baked cherry pie and a movie or novel to your room and spend a restful night on an organic mattress…if you're traveling as a family, the kids will enjoy popcorn with a top-notch staff sitter while you explore the romance of the city. Any way you choose, the options and complimentary amenities abound at the Arbor House and we would love to be your hosts.
