In season you'll find beds of daylilies, roses and lavender, a frog pond with a host of small creatures, a 20- by 40-foot Gunnite swimming pool, and a screened porch running the length of the house overlooking fields of wildgrass and a gravel drive. The rambling lawns lead you to the water's edge, while the English country garden and old shady trees invite you to stay put. Or retire to the great room upstairs with magical views from its deck overlooking the pool, gardens and Bay.

The house is designed like an L: You enter the foyer and ahead is the large eat-in kitchen with two full baths and two bedrooms. Running the length of the kitchen is the upstairs bedroom with great views of the Bay. To the right of the foyer is the longer piece of the L. The master bedroom and bath extend the length of the house. At the end of the large master bedroom is a sunroom/media room with a CD player, DVD and VCR and television (no cable). This room has windows on three sides and is a wonderful sanctuary for reading or watching a movie. Also off the master bedroom is a small child's bedroom with one twin bed. A wide set of stairs going to the great room is off the foyer. Upstairs you'll find a full dining room, a library of books on all subjects and the great room with its sweeping views of the Bay. Beautifully decorated and supremely comfortable, this room has two seating areas and a wrap-around deck overlooking the Bay, the gardens and the pool.
