Laneside is a former farm cottage which was renovated in 2001 to create a self-catering holiday let offering comfortable accommodation available throughout the year. It is situated on the Raby Estates in Upper Teesdale and offers breathtaking south-facing panoramic views. Upper Teesdale and the surrounding areas present the very best of English countryside and wildscapes where visitors will enjoy natural beauty and unspoilt character. It is an area of amazing scenery dominated by purple heather clad moorland and has magnificent waterfalls at High and Low Force and cascades at Cauldron Snout. The most northerly of the Yorkshire Dales with the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Upper Teesdale is where subtle changes in the landscape can be seen throughout the seasons.
Laneside is in an idyllic position where tranquillity is assured and is a haven for walkers, birdwatchers and botanists, where the Blue Gentian can be seen which is a unique plant and relic of the last Ice Age. Visitors can step out the door and follow footpaths over open countryside. Laneside offers spacious accommodation including a family lounge with traditional log burning stove, dining room and fully equipped kitchen/dining area.
