Description

Lamar Valley Cabins are two new, comfortable, upscale cabins in the heart of charming Silver Gate, Montana.  The cabins are just one mile from the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park and a few short miles from the popular wolf-watching site of the Lamar Valley.  They are an ideal home base for exploring Yellowstone.

Our smaller cabin, and the one pictured, (updated photo coming soon) is a rustic one-room cabin nestled in the woods. The cabin’s main floor holds a beautiful lodge pole queen sized bed, a kitchen, a full bath with shower, a dining table with leather chairs, and a leather recliner for relaxing. A ladder leads to a loft with two twin beds. While the cabin is tucked into the woods, grand views of the Absaroka range await just outside your front door.

Our large cabin is next to the small cabin and is under construction with photos coming soon! It will be completed in March and sleeps up to six people. It is a unique, playfully-designed warm and rustic cabin with all the amenities to keep you comfortable and many little cozy hideaways for enjoying our magnificent views. The first floor has a ten foot exposed wooden ceiling, a gas fireplace, hardwood floors, leather furniture, and a gourmet kitchen with stainless appliances and black walnut butcher-block countertops. Also on the first floor is a cozy little built-in breakfast nook where you can enjoy outstanding views while sipping your morning coffee or playing games in the evening.  Upstairs are two bedrooms with a queen bed in each, and a reading nook which doubles as a place for the kids to sleep as the benches are the size of two twin beds. The reading nook is centered around a large picture window where you can loose yourself in the views of the rugged mountain peaks at sunset. Upstairs there is a very nice full bathroom with shower. A laundry room is available to our guests in the large cabin.

Each cabin was built with respect to the environment: We use no-VOC paints, and low VOC finishes and stains. The toilets are dual flush toilets to save water, and our hot water is \"hot water on demand\" which heats water as you use it, allowing unlimited hot water and eliminating wasted energy use. We have insulated the cabins with foam insulation, so they are not only quiet, but they heat very quickly and do not experience heat loss.  We have purchased all of our exterior siding right down the road from us at Drew\'s wonderful local mill. We use non-toxic cleaning supplies and wash our sheets in phosphate-free laundry soap.
