Description

From the cottage two levels of patio/decking view directly across to this view of the Bodinnick Ferry and Daphne du Maurier\'s Ferryside. The principal bedroom and another also share the view. From the lower deck access to the beach - but you\'ll need to swim at high tide! A barbecue on the lower level too.

This spacious Victorian waterfronting house is set in an enviable position overlooking the river, near the Ferry to Bodinnick. There is a patio, balcony and delightful sheltered terrace over the river with access to the slipway and water. The property has a mooring and is a short distance from Caffa Mill Car and Dinghy Park and a level five minute walk from the town centre.

Ferryman\'s Cottage has been tastefully refurbished and modernised and offers quality family accommodation with wonderful views. The ground floor consists of a comfortable sitting room with open decorative fireplace, Sky TV (free to air channels), Video, DVD & CD player and views across the river and patio doors onto the balcony; there is a study/office with second TV, phone and Fax and a shower room/wc. Complimentary Internet access is available via our WiFi network.

On the lower ground floor you enter the Cornish slate built cellars of the former \"Sailors Return\" an eighteenth century pub but now delightfully converted. The dining room, with beamed ceiling, leads onto the terrace, low beams in the kitchen area - beware tall cooks!, with charcoal barbecue and excellent river views. It has steps down the Passage Street Slipway. The kitchen is also on this floor and this is superbly equipped with a range of fitted units, gas cooker, washing and drying machine and dishwasher, fridge, freezer and microwave.

On the first floor are two double bedrooms, one of which has a bay window with lovely views, and a bathroom/wc with a shower over the bath. The second floor has two further bedrooms, one with river views and double bed; the other a single bed and full sized bunk beds.

Deck with access by personal ladder to beach or - with the tide - the water. Fishing! Gas fired BBQ, table and chairs. Dining room with farmhouse pine table; gas fired stove. Can seat 8 but, at this number, it\'s rather \'cosy\'! Extensive crockery and glassware.
Kitchen with all facilities, dishwasher, washer/drier, microwave and oven. Curious peep view to street via the old coal-hole! Exposed beams, attractive (means limited head height in kitchen - tall cooks take care!)

Study with TV, desks, telephone and WiFi and a few chairs (quiet retreat?). Shower room with WC, basin. Lounge with TV, audio/visuals leading to upper deck; views centered on Daphne du Maurier\'s first Cornish house, Ferryside.

Two double bedrooms, one with bay window, beautiful river view, coffee table, ideal for morning cuppa, checking out the river; each has vanity unit/basin. Bathroom with bath, shower, WC.

Double bedroom with river view; vanity unit, wardrobe. Second bedroom with single bed, full sized bunk beds; vanity unit.

The Cottage has a \'frape\' namely a loop with buoy which can be hauled in and out to give safe mooring. The mooring can be used casually for small boats and loading at the cottage without charges but for extended use additional costs should be arranged with the harbourmaster.
