The Dinsmore Cottage is located East of Halliburton, South of Bancroft, just 2 1/2 hrs North-East of Toronto (and 2 1/2 hrs West of Ottawa) on beautiful Coe Island Lake. Coe Island Lake is a small body of water known for its quiet and serene surroundings, superior water quality, and stoney and sand bottom with excellent fishing for Trout (Splake) and Bass. The 2 properties total about 4 acres and include over 300 feet of private waterfront frontage (with no cottages in view on either side of our cottage). Although Coe Island Lake does not have a marina, there is a boat launch located on the property. If you are looking for a smaller lake with extreme privacy and serenity, great fishing and excellent swimming (no weeds!), then the Dinsmore Cottage on Coe Island Lake might be the perfect place for your restful retreat.
There are 5 buildings on our 4 acre property: the main cottage; a boathouse (guest cabin); a kids 'Bunkie'; a shed for storing a variety of sporting gear; and a pine 2-seater outhouse. There is a kids' play structure with swings, monkey bars and a slide. The main cottage is 1½ stories with a 3 piece washroom, washer & dryer, fully equipped kitchen, and living and dining areas. The main cottage has 2 bedrooms on the upper level (the main bedroom has 2 double beds with a balcony; and the second bedroom has 1 double bed), and a loft area (with 1 double bed). We also have a TV with DVD and VCR (with 70+ movies), CD/stereo, Sony PlayStation (Original), and numerous board games for drizzly days and late evening relaxation. We have a phone for local calls, and there is also cell coverage in the area. The boathouse (guest cabin) has 2 queen beds, a futon, TV and CD stereo. It has a screened-in porch and a private 2 piece washroom for your convenience. Beside the boathouse is a large 3-tier main dock (the ‘North docks’). Just in front of the North docks is a swim raft for kids and adults alike to enjoy. The kids Bunkie (about 12 by 8 feet) is equipped with 2 bunk beds, an electric heater, radio, and lighting. Off the main cottage is a large 3-tier wrap around deck complete with octagon picnic table and umbrella for a wonderful outdoor dining and BBQ experience. This leads down to the East docks, which also has a large floating dock with built in seating and great swimming (there is a 16 foot drop to the bottom at that point). There is a fire-bricked campfire pit with benches leading down to the North docks. You are free to use our paddleboat, rowboat, canoe, horseshoes, fishing gear and float rafts at your leisure.
