Description

The charming little village of Middle Aston is 12 miles north of Oxford and less than 1 hour’s drive from Heathrow airport. This former farmhouse, dating from the 1650s, stands at the edge of the village and has a sweeping view over the Cherwell Valley. The rooms are large with very comfortable beds and armchairs. They look out over the well tended garden, Caroline’s pride and joy. Our guests all comment on the exceptional peace and quiet and you really do hear the dawn chorus at Home Farm House. We are always delighted for you to sit in the garden and enjoy the view. The breakfast room has a large inglenook fireplace and oak beams. Caroline uses locally produced free-range eggs and makes her own delicious marmalades and jams. Caroline and Glen Parsons have many interests (besides gardening, Caroline can tell you about the Oxford colleges) and will point you to local places of interest. Woodstock and Blenheim Palace are 7 miles away. A visit to Rousham Park, just 2 miles away, with its stunning William Kent landscape garden is a must. The Cotswolds, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick and Windsor are all within easy reach. There is excellent walking in the Cherwell Valley and the Oxfordshire Cycle way passes close by. We are 2 miles from the Oxford Union canal. There is a wide range of pubs and restaurants nearby. We usually have a current favourite to recommend! Whether your visit is for business or pleasure we look forward to meeting you.
