Description

Looking forward to welcoming you to Ducklington farmhouse for Bed and Breakfast near Witney. Our family run mixed farm is situated 1.5 miles from the centre of Witney, on the edge of the Cotswolds. The name Cotswold is derived from the word 'Cotes' which were the shelters in the hills, in which the sheep were wintered, and the 'Wolds', meaning hills. Oxford and Woodstock, where you find Blenheim Palace are about a twenty minute drive away. Stratford upon Avon, which has many associations with William Shakespeare, is a little further. I have a collection of tourist information of many other places to visit in the area. Towards the end of April we have Fritillary Sunday in Ducklington Village. A fund raising day for the church, when the site that grows the Snakeshead Fritillary is advertised. The old fashioned way the field is managed has preserved and increased the number of flowers. It is just a short walk from the church - a visit that you can finish off with a cream tea in the Parish Room. Business men and women will also be very welcome, finding us easily situated from many centres just off the A40 between Oxford and Cheltenham.
