Description

Bower Farm House is a charming, heavily beamed 17th Century Kentish Farmhouse. Have breakfast in front of the large inglenook, with homemade bread, garden laid eggs and fairtrade tea/coffee. Enjoy delightful bedrooms, the gently sloping floor encouraging one bedwards after a relaxing walk home across the common from one of the local hostelries. Dating from the 17th century, this Kentish farmhouse has central chimneys and staircase. The original catslide roof has been removed, probably early last century, allowing a more substantial kitchen area with a further chimney stack and first floor accommodation above. The twin room, its bathroom and the dining room are therefore 300 or so years old and the double room about 150 years old. The extensive mediaeval common in front of the house was originally used by the local residents as supplementary summer grazing. Some residents still use this right.
