Anguilla is a picturesque island surrounded by miles of secluded beaches. It pleases those who enjoy the simple life of a magnificent sea, bright sunshine and cooling, gentle trade winds. This english speaking island is the northernmost of the Leeward Islands in the eastern Caribbean.
The island itself is warm and welcoming, small and secluded. Approximately 35 square miles, it is flat and low-lying, comprised of coral and limestone and covered mostly with rock, sparse scrub oak, few trees, some salt ponds and the world best blue water white sand beaches.
While many consider Anguilla to be off the beaten path, our island is easily accessible by air and by sea. Our island’s main gateways are Puerto Rico, St. Maarten/Martin, Antigua and St. Kitts.
From Puerto Rico, Anguilla is just a one-hour flight via Seaborne Airlines. Or from St. Maarten/Martin, one can choose a seven-minute flight into Anguilla’s Wallblake Airport via private executive charters, or take a scheduled ferry or charter from the French or Dutch sides of the island. Ferries from the French side generally operate at 30 to 45 minute intervals and take roughly 20 minutes to cross from St. Martin to Anguilla. From the Dutch side of St. Maarten, scheduled and charter services are also available.
