My family and I do not travel outside of USA often. Laurie helped ease my mind by assisting in the planning of our couple days in San Jose. She set up shuttles, tours and meals for us. Laurie and Miriam are amazing. Their hospitality is the best I have ever experienced. Thank you Laurie and Miriam for everything you did, we are so happy to have stayed with you. We feel blessed to have met you both!
This property is a delightful haven away from city bustle, yet reasonably close by taxi to both the airport and the main Tracopa bus station. The layout is very welcoming and calming, as are Laurie and her staff, and I love the vast terrace. I was also pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the climate of San Jose is. The cooked breakfast was a leisurely treat. Highly recommended.
Beautiful place. Very nice rooms. nice comfortable beds. Staff was very nice. The most amazing breakfast i have ever had. We were going to stay at a hotel but decided to go here. Sure glad we did. Will definitely stay here again when i go back.
Great Place to stay, lovely experience. Food is all good. Very sanitized and clean place. I have stayed last week and my experience was lovely. The nearby area also good the rooms are big. Even after lockdown, I have thought to visit the place once again.
Great experience, loved the stay and the service was awesome. The host was so cool that we had more then the arrangements we have asked for. The food is also one of the specialties of this place. Hope to go there soon once the lockdown is over.
Nothing was too much trouble for Laurie - she made us feel so welcome for our first night in Costa Rica, a home from home. Our room was very comfortable, and Laurie gave us a lift to a local restaurant and a bank to exchange currency. She then let us leave our suitcases for several days while we took a trip to the Osa peninsula.
Instead of staying in a hotel, make your stay in San Jose (Cariari) an experience you'll treasure. Yes, I mean that! Staying with hostess Laurie is a true treat. The large beautiful house has a handful of rooms and there is a large rooftop patio.
$5 Uber to downtown a great advantage. 20 minutes from the airport. Shuttle picked us up and we were welcomed by proprietor Laurie. Miriam is the house "maid" and helped with our bags, making coffee waiting for us outside our door each morning, and the best breakfasts to get us on our way sight seeing. Rooms clean and safe. Running river behind the property was romantic. It's the only place I would stay when visiting CR. Thank you Laurie and Miriam!!
Our travel agent recommended we have a "soft landing" in CR, before we headed to the Nicoyan Penninsula.... and it couldn't have been a better tip. Cariari B&B, Laurie Blizzard, and her side kick Miriam were so lovely accommodating, personable and could anticipate our needs ??. Laurie is a most intriguing, funny, and lovely character!! Being from Massachusetts in the US, was a great tie to Laurie....I felt right at home. She knows San Jose so well after moving here 20 yrs ago. Feel in love with the country and people.... how can't you!! Beds are comfy!! Breakfasts are filling and fresh!!!!
I found Cariari B&B online as a stop to the city from my trips to go see friends and family. I continue to be impressed by the overall experience, from the hospitality to the quality of food to the overall attentiveness to detail. Laurie and Miriam are wholeheartedly dedicated to making their guests feel comfortable, like a family member. Breakfast are satisfying and delicious from eggs, fruit, tea/coffee and breads. Laurie is a great knowledgeable resource for any plans you might have and can arrange for transportation too. I prefer to stay here over other options in the area because it is more of a home feel. And pets are welcomed too :)!
We have traveled the world and this is one of our favorite B and Bs. It’s extremely close to the international airport- it’s a five bedroom B&B in quite a large house. The owner will become your best friend. Breakfasts are delicious and the conversations always interesting. We enjoyed it so much. We are staying there again for tonight. On our way back to the US.
A beautifully restored older house with a delightful elder woman host. Nice yard next to a river you can hear but not see. Nice relaxing background white noise. Covered rooftop patio which was a great place to work or relax. Only three great rooms, all en suite. Close walk to a variety of good restaurants and near enough to the airport it is just a $10 Uber ride at 5am. Interesting wild life in back yard. See pictures.
