Description

Mi Casita is enfolded in tropical woodland wilderness with spell binding views. Situated high over Sir Frances Drake channel it has commanding soaring 180° views of St. John, Sopers Hole and fifteen or more tiny islands.   Embracing the inherent beauty and innate wisdom of the local vernacular, the gated estate road leads to a private driveway and parking area for 2-3 cars immediately adjacent to front entrance.  
 
Inside, crisp, timeless interiors includes a large bedroom (with ceiling fan and A/C), private bath with glass block, a spacious main living area with day bed, 42” flat screen TV, expandable dining table, spacious custom kitchen and separate laundry/storage room. Outside is a charming private covered wood balcony for lounging, outside dining and a hammock sways in the sea breeze.  
 
Guests are lured along a stone path to a water wonderland with a 20’ plunge pool showcasing a shimmering water feature and solar heated spa with vanishing edge that cascades into the pool. The pool and spa are illuminated in the evening with color changing fiber optic lighting. Surrounding the pool is a wooden deck, wicker chaise lounges, outdoor shower and covered dining. A barbeque area includes, gas grill, outdoor refrigerator and a counter with sink for food preparation. All this surrounded by one of the most beautiful views in the British Virgin Islands. 
 
Available within a short drive are some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, remarkable dining and shopping both for gifts and to keep your kitchen well stocked.  
 
Other amenities include: complete linens, beach towels, coolers, 42” flat screen smart TV and Wi Fi internet services, etc... Our kitchen has lots of counter space and is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare gourmet meals with all new GE Monogram appliances with build-in stainless steel oven, double door refrigerator and flush top cook unit. Additional appliances included a dishwasher, toaster oven, coffee maker and microwave.   
 
We suggest you rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Jerry's Car Rental (available when booked) inearby the villa and Jerrys team can arrange to meet you when you arrive and bring you to MiCasita.s

It's even better than we had hoped!


The photos on the website do not do this property justice! It is so much better inside! Cool marble floors, stylish interior and fabulous views. The kitchen is so well equipped.. Everything you need and more and the bed is so so comfortable. This is a property for discerning people so our top tip is keep to the West End of the island including Smugglers Cove/ Long Bay etc and leave Cane Garden Bay for the cruise trippers!

WORTH EVERY PENNY!


After a week at Mi Casita it was difficult to leave...never have we been so relaxed! Mi Casita was a perfect home base for visiting all of the British Virgin Islands, which we did via ferry. The house was amazing! It wasn\'t missing a thing and it was spotless! Penny was a wonderful hostess, there if you needed her, but gave you your privacy. I highly recommend renting a car for exploring the island. It will definitely need to be a 4X4 for the driveway at Mi Casita, which is an adventure in itself, an enjoyable adventure. We compared the driveway to the Indian Jones ride at Disneyland. We found ourselves humming the theme song. Overall we had a fabulous time!

The PERFECT honeymoon getaway!


Where do I even begin!? My husband and I visited MiCasita about a month ago. We were looking for a quiet place that would allow us to explore the island at our leisure. MiCasita was the perfect place for us. It\'s in an amazing location with a gorgeous view of St. Tomas. Penny has thought of everything you could possibly need to make you feel at home. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and utensils. The laundry room was fully stocked with everything you might need! There\'s even WiFi and cable for those lazy days! The house is gorgeous and very well-maintained. We loved grilling fajitas on the patio and enjoying the sunset view of the channel. Penny, we are still talking about how beautiful your place is. We are already planning our next trip! Thank you for being so hospitable. You helped us to truly enjoy our low key honeymoon. Advice for future visitors- rent a 4-wheel drive vehicle, as the house is on an inclined hill. We enjoyed going to Smuggler\'s beach and eating at Fish \'n\' Lime the best! Thank you again for a wonderful visit!

The perfect getaway!


I picked Penny\'s place on Tortola to celebrate my 50th birthday, I\'m so glad I did! What a great place and the beautiful sunsets every night... AMAZING. We picked up some groceries at the harbor market in sopers hole, which will get you by, but the rite aid grocery store in roadtown was a lot bigger store. Going to smugglers cove and Brewers bay is a must! The roads are quite adventurist, but was a lot of fun!! I definately advise taking a morning ferry to the virgin Gorda and go to the Baths! Absolutely gorgeous!! We packed our snorkeling gear and took it with us EVERYWHERE. For the best romantic dinner on the island Penny suggested the Sugar Mill, it was amazing! And worth every penny for the lobster!! They have a website and you can view their menu. I also enjoyed the pool, very relaxing, there was a wreath with a red bow marking the turn that leads up to the home, that was VERY helpful. I can\'t say enough about Penny\'s place! This was our first visit to the islands and hopefully not our last! Thankyou Penny for having this island getaway!!

Spectacular home with views and all the amenities you need!


We were a party of four and just returned from a memorable week on Tortola! I feel beyond blessed that we found and chose MiCasita as our \'home away from home\' for the week! No evidence of Irma destruction anywhere at this house, which is an incredible feat given the strength of that storm! The location was excellent, close to all we needed and especially to the easiest road to cross to the other side of the island! You DEFINITELY need the 4 wheel drive to get up the driveway! As first time island drivers, we were shocked at the road up but after driving for one day on the island, we realized this road is just like every other on the island!! Penny met us as we arrived and made sure we felt comfortable and knew the home and all it had to offer. We found the house to be soo comfortable and super nice and clean! Plenty of supplies to get our week started and she offers all you could ever need. The beds were comfy....a must for all of us! LOVED the kitchen and cabinets and state of the art appliances. We enjoyed the outdoor spaces the most...coffee every morning with the INCREDIBLE views of the channel was just the best part of the day! We relaxed every night in the pool and hot tub, again, soaking up all the views and fresh breezes. Just dream like! When we plan to return to Tortola, we WILL stay here again! Thanks so much Penny!!

A true gem with the best sunset view on Tortola


This was the first time we visited Tortola and it did not disappoint. The island is quickly recovering from a series of devastating hurricanes and this property has been lovingly cared for by its owner Penny. Every detail has been considered. The pool was a perfect respite at the end of the day with relaxing lounge chairs to enjoy the view of sailboats and ferrys coming over to visit the island. The kitchen was a dream with every pot,pan and utensil available including bar ware and plastic plates and cups for the pool area. The lovely breezes made the air condioner completely unneeded All windows have screens and shutters Penny made herself available to answer any questions and to make recommendations for shopping and restaurants I agree with a previous reviewer that the pictures dont actually do this beautiful place justice We will definitely be back!
