Description

Claim your slice of paradise and spend a carefree vacation in a quaint setting on the hill overlooking Philipsburg (see video; picture 3/24). Built in 1912, the Huffman house displays it original charm with inspiring views of the Anaconda range and Flint Creek valley. The house has a fully-equipped kitchen with filtered cold tap water in the kitchen and bathroom, along with new appliances including dishwasher, garbage, microwave, disposal, and heated floor in the bathroom. When not enjoying the outdoors, log on to the Wi-Fi network to contact friends and family, or watch the local television stations or Netflix. There is a telephone for local calls, washer-dryer in the basement, iron and ironing board in the closet, hair dryer in the bathroom, and a new barbecue grill on the back deck. Relax on an inviting front porch gazing at the Anaconda Pintler Wilderness, while imaging the view during the silver mining boom of the 1880s. Our property is smoke-free, so please enjoy the view from the back deck or front porch while smoking.

The Huffman house is a 2 minute (0.3 mile) walk to main street, where you will find restaurants, shops selling everything from local sapphires to candy, a brew pub, and during the winter months a skating and ice hockey rink.   From the house there is immediate access to hiking and mountain biking trails in to the Flint Creek Range, and it is a short drive to Granite ghost town, Georgetown Lake and Discovery Ski area. For a longer adventure follow the 40-mile Philipsburg Valley Scenic Loop, 8 miles of which follows Rock Creek famous for world-class fly fishing.  Philipsburg is located near the halfway-point between Yellowstone (201 miles) and Glacier (205 miles) National Parks. Come spend a night, weekend week or more in this peaceful setting on the hill in Philipsburg.

An excellent house with an excellent view...

This house is bigger and nicer than we were expecting. Plenty warm despite blustery temps outside, great wood floors and lovely space, and some of the better views of Philipsburg we\'ve had in any of the in-town rentals. The beds are great too! This one\'s going to be booked up most in-season weekends, I predict.

Nice little town

The house was very clean and the owners/managers were great.

Perfect family getaway

The Mitchell home was everything promised. We arrived, and easily became temporary Montanans. The views from the porch alone were the trip.

Awesome Place!

If I weren\'t in a hurry I would write a thousand great things about this place but I am in a hurry so I\'ll just suffice it to say pretty darn to close to perfect. Totally loved it. Totally hope to go back! Excellent, excellent service from owner. Huge thank you.

Perfect!

The location of this house is ideal for being close to town, while benefiting from the stunning views! The house offered all we needed while in Philipsburg, including a fenced in yard for the dog. Coffee on the porch as the fog lifted out of the valley was our favorite start to the day. No matter where you were in the house, the view was amazing! The daily visits from the deer was a nice bonus,. The house offered plenty of space, with all the amenities needed for a week long visit. Extra linens and towels, washer and dryer and a fully functional kitchen were vital to making our stay enjoyable. It was a most memorable stay! We look forward to returning to this exact house on our next visit to P’burg!

PERFECT FOR US

My grown son and I stayed for three nights at the Huffman House with our two Australian shepherds who enjoyed the fenced-in yard almost as much as we did. It was SO nice to be able to let them out for potty runs without having to garb up and take them on a leash! The beds were super comfortable. The living area was adequate for our needs and nice enough to be appealing. There were \"dog rugs\" along the living room wall, which made our fur babies feel catered to and welcome. I took meat market bones for them to chew on, and they truly enjoyed those rugs, which gave them traction to gnaw on their nightly treats. The neighborhood is quiet with a bit of elbow room, yet we were super close to downtown Phillipsburg, a friendly and interesting place. When we return to Phillipsburg, we will definitely consider staying at the Huffman House again! And we would recommend it to friends who travel with dogs or kids. It\'s a safe location for both.
