Our family of 6 spent the last week of March at the wonderful pink house. Just days before arrival, Aldo, the property manager, reached out to us to introduce himself and to offer his assistance during our trip. This immediately put us at ease as we were traveling with our 4 daughters and had never been to Central America before! Upon arrival, we were greeted by Aldo and Kattia w/ chilled coconut drinks. This was such a fun treat for all of us! Upon entering the villa, we were so excited to find that the home was exactly as advertised and perhaps even better in person than in the pictures. The home is comfortable and spacious. Kattia is lovely person and kept the home tidy and put out hammocks every day! While the house was very hot, the fans kept the air circulating, and it did cool down enough at night to sleep comfortably. The grounds and pool and beach are picturesque and we had the beach to ourselves. We enjoyed 3 day trips, but didn\'t want to do more because the house was too wonderful to leave! We spent a the hottest parts of the days by the house in the pool and enjoyed the beach after 2. There are awesome shells at the beach! Finding sand dollars was a daily activity. There are also a lot of friendly dogs on the beach in the evening which my girls loved! As mentioned by other reviewers, occasionally the water to the house did stop, but it always went back on shortly after. We just timed our showers and dish washing appropriately. There are some tiny ants - the house is a screened home in the rainforest - but we just put food away promptly and they were not a problem for us. Aldo was so extremely helpful to us! We were apprehensive about renting a car and Aldo was able to drive us to the locations we wanted to go to and even act as our guide! We enjoyed the days and a few meals with him- he also picked great restaurants. He is a wonderful person! On one trip, he treated us to a roadside orange juice stand and we had the most delicious fresh squeezed juice ever! On the first night, my husband dropped his credit cards at the airport which we discovered when we arrived at the house! Aldo drove my husband back to the airport that night to get them successfully. What could have been a disaster was easily handled because of Aldo\'s expertise and initiative as he spoke to the police at the airport on my husband\'s behalf. The combination of a beautiful house and wonderful staff at La Fica made our trip to CR perfection! Thank you!
We traveled to Villa La Fiaca on June 26 - July 3. From the very beginning the owners, Laura and Michael, were in touch with us to ensure we had everything needed for our stay. Then, about 2 months prior to arrival, the property manager, Aldo, contacted us. He was amazing. He set up deep sea fishing for the guys on the trip, ziplining for myself, husband and kids and was our personal tour guide through Manuel Antonio park. He also accompanied us for lunch at a great restaurant in Quepos (can\'t remember the name of it, but it had amazing tuna won tons). Kattia, the onsite caretaker was very pleasant. I will mention that if you don\'t speak Spanish, you may want to use google translate as Kattia does not speak English. Luckily, my brother speaks some Spanish so we were good. I will mention, though, that Aldo is completely fluent in English so he was also happy to translate when we needed. The pool is probably the best feature of the property. It was clean and every morning Kattia put out cushions and umbrellas for us. There is a nice grill outside that we used to cook steak and hotdogs/burgers. The avocados are the best in Costa Rica. The beach is right in the back yard and basically deserted. It was so nice and peaceful. There was also a stray dog that visited us that we named S\'mores. He became our pet as our dog died the week before our trip. As far as getting there, I would highly recommend printing out the owner\'s directions. They were very good and made getting there easy. The internet is a little spotty but to be expected, it is a very rural area. Also, the owners have a VOIP US phone that we were able to use to call family in the US and that was super helpful. Something to note that I did not notice when I booked; the house does not have A/C. We were fine during the day and spent most of our time at the pool or at the beach, but it can be a little warm for sleeping. Just plan to wear light clothing and they have ceiling fans and portable fans in each of the bedrooms. It was a great vacation; we had 4 adults and 2 children ages 8 and 9. We all had a wonderful experience and I would definitely go back!
We\'ve just returned from nine glorious days spent in late August at Villa La Fiaca. As you can see from all the beautiful photos and the comprehensive information posted by the owners, La Fiaca is extraordinarily lovely. From the moment we were welcomed with fresh coconut water upon our arrival, we knew a magical, memorable experience awaited us. If you enjoy spending time away from it all and being just steps away from a beautiful pristine, deserted beach in a stunningly beautiful home and grounds, this place is for you. We spent our days boogie boarding in warm ocean waves, beach combing for shells, hanging out in the pool, napping in the hammocks, enjoying beautiful sunsets or exploring the nearby rain forest parks, where we saw monkeys, sloths and so many other amazing creatures. Nights we spent playing games and falling to sleep to the sounds of the ocean\'s surf. Lg
