We (2 gals and a dog) absolutely loved this quiet getaway. The real gem of the place is definitely its waterfront view, which is exactly as pictured here and clearly visible through the many large windows in the dining room, kitchen, and living room. Among other things, this peaceful cove is a birder\'s paradise, replete with all kinds of loons, diving ducks, woodpeckers --- we even saw a pair of falcons! The furniture (including the master bed) is comfortable, the decorations are tasteful and pleasant, the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes and cookware (we cooked a lot of full meals during our stay), and the place overall is warm, clean, and inviting. There is no cell phone service (at least for us) or wireless internet, so come prepared to unplug and relax! There is satellite TV (although we weren\'t able to access local network channels. hmm.) and lots of movies, as well as a stack of board games and other amuseuments. A neat stack of travel guides and area brochures (with hand-written recommendations) greet you upon arrival and so you are never lacking for things to do... although you may just want to sit and stare out at the cove! The location is also great. Although the place is all by itself in the middle of the woods (on a short dirt road, which we easily traveled via Honda Civic), it\'s less than a 10-minute drive to scenic Boothbay Harbor, and around 20 minutes to the next peninsula east, where Damariscotta and Pemaquid Point are fantastic destinations. Also, our dealings with the owner were so pleasant I have to mention that here. We will definitely be back!
We stayed at this adorable cottage to celebrate my Husband\'s Birthday. We were two couples and a friend. The house was neat, clean and tidy. There was plenty of room for all of us to be together, or have our own space. The layout of the house was perfect to enjoy the incredible view. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise, and lots of time on the deck watching the birds on the water. The location was super convenient for jaunts into town and exploring the area. It was very quiet, allowing for some much needed downtime. Good time, good food, good friends, great place. Thank you Peter for allowing us to enjoy your home. It truly is a special place.
Serene with a view. This home was perfect for our family of 5 and our 2 little dogs. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed. Owner Pete was pleasant to deal with and even came by to make sure we were all set with everything, Cozy yet we had plenty of room to spread out. We fished and collected shells. We also took days trips to Boothbay Harbor, Pemaquid Lighthouse (just beautiful!), and went to Hollywood Casino in Bangor! We appreciated that there are only 2 steps to get into the building and 2 of the bedrooms are downstairs, good for the mobility challenged like myself. There is one bedroom upstairs with spiral staircase for the more limber of us. I would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks Pete!
Really quaint cottage right on the water- we felt as though we were staying at a relative\'s place. A large winter storm hit the day we checked in, so we got an authentic Maine winter experience with snow :) Really pretty! This cottage is bigger than it looks on the pictures, 3 bedrooms with enough beds to sleep 8-10 people. The cove is really close, just a couple minutes walk down the hill. Boothbay Harbor is really close for shopping and eating. We ate breakfast a couple times at Baker\'s Way- good donuts and great coffee. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks again to Peter!
The house was comfortable it’s not letting me put it This This was a very comfortable homey house with a perfect view of the water. The location was wonderful - close to kayaking, Boothbay Harbor, good restaurants, botanical gardens. The owner was delightful, easy to reach and quick to respond to any requests we might’ve had. We had a wonderful stay!
