Sandy Lane Resort is located in Algonquin Highlands, 20 minutes outside of Minden and 30 minutes from Haliubrton. This year round cottage resort offers self catering 2 and 3 bedroom cabins overlooking beautiful Halls lake. Relax on our large sandy beach, or enjoy one of our many activities! The sparkle of the lakes, the green of the forest, both set amongst the granite rock outcropping of the rugged rolling Haliburton Highlands. Long hot sunny days with warm waters bring us out to do all the activities that the Highlands have to offer. Relax on the beach, par take in a friendly horseshoe pitching contest, or waterskiing around the lake, all part of summer. Always lots to do at Sandy Lane or nearby. Not just sand at Sandy Lane. A true winter wonderland of frozen lakes and snow covered forest to play on. Yes, we have snow, snow and more snow plus lots of activities for you to enjoy at Sandy Lane Resort or nearby.Â
We stayed at Sandy Lane Resort Feb 25-27. This was following the record high temperatures we had and a lot of rain. The toboggan hill was still in good shape but the ice rinks were in rough shape, had the weather been better they would have probably been great too. Cabin was rustic but there was hot water, good pressure in the shower and a cozy fire place. The kitchen was good, had all that we needed. Would have been better if the beds were Queens not doubles, but other than that we would stay here again.
Our daughter and her fiancee held their wedding at Sandy Lane Resort at the end of September. Most of our guests stayed in the cabins and it was a great time! Joachim and his staff were amazing and helpful and very accommodating, enabling them to stay within their wedding budget. Even when we left items behind they agreed to mail them back to us without any hesitation. The beds were comfortable and cabins clean with everything we needed to be comfortable. I would come back for a vacation in the future.
We took the kids for a week and they loved it the toboggan hill at the back of our cottage the skating and the hot tub. The owners are very friendly and helpful. This is our 3rd trip during the winter and will be looking at a summer visit.
Was there for a wedding , we had cabin 15 and loved it.The banquet hall was great,We had everything we needed .The food fabulous. Our cabin was rustic but so comfortable relaxing clean. My daughter even booked a weekend before we checked out.I have no complaints at all.Loved the view of the lake, and the great bonfire sat nite. The new owners were very accommodating always there if you needed them.See you soon
My husband and I enjoyed a great 2 night stay here. It was low season so it was very quiet and peaceful. We stayed in a cottage with a private hot tub. Everything was clean and worked great. We especially loved the fireplace! Yes, there are some renovations that need to be done however I find it just adds to the charm of the place. My only suggestion would be to lay off the amount of chlorine added to the hot tub - it was so strong that it bleached my favourite mint green bikini top (I’ve had forever!) to an ungodly mustard yellow. Oh well. I would still recommend & return, perhaps in the summer.
